The Original Small Beer – Dark Lager was a vegan-friendly, low-alcohol dark lager from London’s Small Beer Brew Co., clocking in at just 1 % ABV and around 60 calories per 350 ml bottle. It poured deep red and smelled of coffee, toast, and dark chocolate, offering a surprisingly bitter yet smooth flavour profile despite its light body. Although now discontinued - its recipe evolved into Small Beer’s new stout - the Dark Lager was praised for delivering serious dark‑beer character in a much lighter format.
